RUGGIERO
E PALOMINA
Or a fabulous tale of deeds and courtly love told in music
with nine settings
Comical ballad-singing in costumes with Middle Ages and Renaissance
music, dance and living pictures. It was born from the joint
of some tunes (Carmina Burana, Cantigas de Amigo, Renaissance dances,
traditional music) from the group's repertory with the ancient poetic
form of ballad-singer.
The plot develops along the lines of a song of deeds through fights,
contrast love and treachery. The pressing rhythm of the ballad-singer's
voice explains the pictures animated by the dancer's movements or
the sudden character's apparition. Nine settings, music and dance
to scan the movements of an exiting tale that takes the audience in
an amazing adventure.
This performance is particularly made for historic festivals
and youth theatre.
The performance lasts about 60 minutes.
Inside: halls, little theatres, etc.
Outside: little squares, courts, cloisters, with a large space between
players and audience for the dances.
