 LUCENTE STELLA Music and stars from the last millennium The Compagnia dell'asino che porta la croce offers a new navigation among musical genres and cultures of the Middle Ages. The subject of this concert is the representation of the vault of heaven and its meaning in science, magic and religion. It was a matter of great interest and cultural disputes, which established a meeting and confrontation ground between West and East, cosmological theories and popular beliefs, sacred and profane. Troubador songs, ballads, Jewish, Arabian and Greek dances are included in the programme beside pieces of sacred inspiration (laude, devotional songs, motets). A place of great importance is also held by the compositions of the famous German mystic Hildegard Von Bingen. The performance is suitable for theatre festivals and music seasons. It will be performed in places with good acoustics, such as cloisters, parish churches or concert halls.
